FICPI is an organisation working for the interests of Patent and Trademark professionals world-wide.

We are unique, being the only association whose membership consists solely of intellectual property professionals in private practice.

With members in 86 countries/regions we can rightly claim to be a truly international organisation, broadly representative of the free profession.

Our members are highly trained, highly motivated and independent in spirit. FICPI maintains this standard of excellence through its stringent admission criteria, thus providing its members with a prestigious network of foreign associates while at the same time maintaining the standards of the profession world-wide.

FICPI´s work is wide ranging, touching every area of the fast changing intellectual property field and our achievements are impressive. With the expertise and practical experience provided by our membership and our presence as observers and advisors at many national and international platforms, FICPI is ideally placed to keep abreast of new developments, to keep you informed, to make an impact on future legislation and to make your concerns heard.

N.B. A revised version of the FICPI Statutes has been posted on the website. The revised Statutes include the amendments to Article 15, Article 18ter, and the Code of Conduct that were approved by the Executive Committee at its meeting in Sydney (2008). In addition, the three languages of the Statutes have been extensively reviewed and revised to correct numerous typographical errors and inconsistencies between the three languages.

Article 15, as revised, gives the Bureau the power to expel summarily from the Federation any individual member who has not paid his subscription for the last year and has not put this in order three months after two successive reminders.

Article 18ter has been amended to reflect the fact that FAB has a president.

Rule 11 of the Code of Conduct codifies FICPI's long-standing rule that the organising by members or their businesses of business-related receptions or similar functions during official meetings of the Federation is contrary to the tradition and spirit of the Federation and is not permitted by the Federation.
