As part of the 12th Open Forum being held in Munich in September, FICPI will be running a session on Top Level Domains - Enforcement of Rights. Since this session is expected to have wider appeal, FICPI is pleased to make available a limited number of places, for this session only, for persons who do not wish to attend the whole Forum, at a special price of 120.
- Moderator: Petter Rindforth (Fenix Legal KB, Sweden),
- Presenters: Dawn Osborne (Palmer Biggs Legal, UK), Nick Wood (ComLaude, UK), Gabriel Leonardos (Momsen, Leonardos & Cia., Brazil), Jonathan Cohen (ICANN, Canada)
The world of Internet domain names is about to expand dramatically. Today's 20 generic top level domains, such as .com, .net and .org, will shortly be joined by perhaps more than 200 new ones. At the same time, it will be possible to register domain names in almost all local languages. Although this is an exciting time for Internet users and businesses all over the world, it also increases the risks for trademark owners and calls for new systems for enforcement.
The panel will explain the present situation, and what is going on in Cyberspace, with a view to advising on how one should re-organize domain name policies in preparation for the near future.
- Friday, September 10th – 14:00-16:00, at the Hotel BAYERISCHER HOF, Promenadeplatz 2-6, Munich, in the Palaishalle Meeting Room, which is located on the ground floor of the hotel, right wing (Palais Montgelas)
Information about the new session, and a registration form, can be found on the FICPI website,
