On 22 to 24th November this year, Elia Sugrañes, FICPI's Secretary General, was present on behalf of FICPI at the EUIPO - European Union  Intellectual Property Office Management Board and Budget Committee, where decisions were taken on the IP system within the EU, mainly focused on the EUIPO's activities, underlining the focus on SMEs.

Representatives from National Offices, EUIPO governance body, EU Commission, EU Parliament, WIPO and EPO representatives, and CPVO were also present and active in the discussions.

IP professionals, IP experts, are part of the IP system.

The governance structure of the EUIPO consists of a Management Board and a Budget Committee, each composed of one representative from each Member State, two representatives from the European Commission and one representative from the European Parliament. FICPI is invited to attend as an Observer on a rotary basis.

Independent IP attorneys bring insights and counsel from a wider external perspective and a commitment to high quality work, complying with all relevant regulations. FICPI uniquely combines education and advocacy on topics around patents and trade marks, with a focus on developing the professional excellence of its individual members.
