United Kingdom
Marc is a Chartered British Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, as well as an IP Litigator (Patents) in the UK and a Unified Patent Court (UPC) representative.
Marc joined Albright over 12 years ago after a stint at a large multinational company. He has worked on patents covering a diverse range of technologies, including for example: electric vehicle charging, flywheel technology, racing vehicle simulators, water cleaning/control devices and compositions, medical devices/compositions, electrolytic cell technology, product authentication systems, agricultural devices and systems, helmets, equestrian equipment, and various consumer products.
In patent litigation, he successfully defended a British patent against revocation at the UK IPO, acting for the patentee. The revocation action was brought by the former licensee and involved security for costs, expert witness evidence and a hearing spearheaded on the opposing side by King’s Counsel (January 2023), plus a costs award in the patentee’s favour (decisions: BL O/0052/23, BL O/0372/23).

CET 3 International Patent Matters
CET Group 3 focuses on developments of the international patent system and provides guidance to its users.
Such developments can relate to both substantive and procedural aspects of patent law, and CET3 follows them across jurisdictions.
CET3 identifies issues that deserve study, conducts the studies and provides guidance through various outputs available to the users of the patent system such as Guidelines, Position papers, and Resolutions. CET3 actively contributes to forging and advocating the position of FICPI in discussions on patent law harmonisation in key study and discussion groups such as the Group B+ and at the forums established by WIPO.
CET3 also monitors and studies international agreements and conventions relating to patents, follows the developments of the PCT system and, where necessary, provides comments to WIPO and relevant authorities for defending a well-balanced international patent system.
