About me

I graduated from the University of Technology Helsinki (now Aalto University) with an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1991 with a focus on integrated circuits and semiconductors. I started working in a patent agency in 1991 and qualified as a Finnish patent attorney in 1992 and as a European patent attorney in 1996.

Between 1995-2010 I worked in various positions in the IPR department of Nokia Corporation. During 2004-2010 I was a member of the IPR management team. My work at Nokia included patent drafting and prosecution as well as oppositions, as well as management of Nokia's outside patent associates. Later I managed one of Nokia's 3 patent portfolios where the overall portfolio included about 10 000 patent families and the one I managed about 3500 patent families. I handled a lot of patent assertions, patent licensing and litigation for Nokia. During 2008-2010 I managed the IPR for Nokia's mobile phones business unit.

In 2010 I started at the Helsinki based patent agency Papula-Nevinpat as Director of the patent department. In addition to managing the department, my work has focused in particular on helping clients with patent assertions, patent licensing and litigation.
