At the September 2022 FICPI Forum in Cannes, France, Julian Crump, then President of FICPI, and Enrique Diaz, President of ASIPI (the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property), signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in establishing a framework for activities of mutual interest. 

One exciting development is to produce joint webinars of interest to members of both associations. 

The planned FICPI-ASIPI webinars are an ideal complement to FICPI's own Focus 45 webinar series.  

The FICPI-ASIPI sessions will each feature speakers from both associations, with topics including:

  • 23 March 2023 - NFTs and Intellectual Property Rights

  • 20 April  – Non-Traditional trade marks - comparative analysis LATAM, US and Europe

  • 25 May 2023 - Challenging pharmaceutical and biological patents by generics and biosimilars

  • 22 June  - Patent infringement in the virtual world

FICPI is delighted to embark on this endeavour with ASIPI, and encourages its members to tune in to watch these interesting and enlightening discussions.
