About me

​Dr of Physics (Ph.D.), Dr of Laws (Juris Doctor), Master of Laws (LL.M., International Commercial Law), European and Swiss Patent Attorney. Admitted lawyer to the Swiss Federal Patent Court. Senior partner with many years experience in various large Patent and Trademark Law Firms in Bern, Basel and Zürich, focus on electronics, mobile communication technology, IT, network technology, business method and software patenting. One of my specific area of expertise is the implementation and leading of international and national patent infringement litigation and nullity actions. I handle litigation cases in all Swiss and German Courts and appeals/oppositions at the European Patent Office. I and my group have run several large patent cases involving patents and standards in recent years. International, Asian (ASISArb) and European/Swiss (ASA) arbitration work in commercial / IP law with specific experience in IP enforcement and prosecution. Research fellowship at the University of Basel’s Faculty of Law. For several years research fellow at the Departement of Physics of the University of Basel and at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva. Staff member at the University of Basel’s Centre for Calculation. Specialized areas of neurophysics, high energy physics and IT technology. Technical supervisor in a number of software development, network, mobile telecommuncation and IT projects.
