The first in-person FICPI meeting for nearly two years is for US members and other IP professionals, including past members.

The dinner, features as guest speaker, David J. Kappos, a partner at New York law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore. David will share his insights on the state of subject matter eligibility and 101 reform. He was the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) from 2009 to 2013. Prior to being confirmed to the post by the U.S. Senate on August 7, 2009, David Kappos was the vice president and assistant general counsel, intellectual property law, for IBM Corporation. 

The event takes place in the DC area the evening of the close of AIPLA, which many of you will be attending.

The event begins at 6pm on Saturday October 30th at Landini Brothers Restaurant, 115 King Street, Alexandria, VA. 

Food cost will be $ 60.00 per person plus 20% for service and 11% for city and state taxes.

Entrée (a choice of one) 

  • Linguine alle Pescatora (wild diver sea scallops, brown Gulf shrimp, baby clams, P.E.I. mussels and Atlantic squid sautéed in garlic, red pepper and white wine)
  • Pollo al Limone (tender locally raised organic free-range chicken breasts dusted with flour and sautéed in a butter, fresh lemon and white wine sauce)
  • Melanzane alla Parmigiana (layers of fried eggplant prepared with fresh tomatoes, oregano and basil, topped with fresh milk mozzarella cheese then baked)
  • Braised Short Ribs (braised beef short ribs served with demi glace over mushroom risotto)

Dolce e Café (fresh homemade tiramisu and miniature cannoli) 

 

Beverages are not included.

FICPI will be partially off-setting the per-person price.
