Kathryn Szymczyk is a lawyer, business development consultant and executive coach. As Director of SC&C | Taking IP Practices Further, she works with lawyers and law firms from around the world to build their capacity to bring in bigger and better business, leading to more profitable and satisfying practices. She and her Team assist Firm's with business development strategy, planning, training, facilitation and coaching. Prior to becoming a consultant and executive coach, Kathryn practiced as a trademark lawyer in top tier, full service law firms in Canada (Gowlings (now GowlingWLG), Borden Ladner Gervais LLP), as the Head of the Gowlings Representative Office in Moscow, Russia and as one of six Directors in the firm PETOSEVIC, an Eastern European law firm with Offices in 13 countries. Kathryn combines her legal experience with her executive coaching skills and knowledge of the latest trends in legal marketing to step up her clients' business development game. She has a particular expertise in business development for IP practices. Kathryn holds a B.A. in Russian Studies from Queens University Canada and an LL.B. (J.D.) from the University of Ottawa. She is a qualified barrister and solicitor called to the bar of Ontario, Canada. Kathryn received her coach training through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). Accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), CTI is the oldest and largest in-person coach training organisation in the world. CTI has trained over 35,000 coaches and has also trained employees in more than half of the Fortune 100 companies.
