Latest Newsletter Newsletter archive EXCO NEWS is the 4-page Newsletter of the CET (Study & Work Commission)which is published after every Executive Committee meeting, once or twice yearly. It contains summaries of the reports produced by the CET. The CONGRESS BULLETIN is published after each congress and certain seminars as collection booklets including speeches, reports on discussions, resolutions, etc.;

Summaries in English, French and German of all papers presented at the last FICPI World Congress, Copenhagen, 21-24 October 1997, will be available shortly. The MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY contains a valuable list of the intellectual property attorneys in seventy countries throughout the world who are subject to a common disciplinary code and who have satisfied the requirements for entry into FICPI. (Currently only available in printed form.) As the demand for intellectual property protection and the necessary infrastructure has changed and grown, FICPI has grown in size and status and has successfully adapted to the changing needs of its membership. (but has remained true to its purpose: to serve the interests of its members and their clients).

Established in 1906 as Federation Internationale des Conseils en Propriete Industrielle, of which "FICPI" is the acronym, as an association of intellectual property attorneys in private practice, FICPI can boast today a membership of 3200 and is rapidly growing.

The increase in world trade in general and the transition of former state economies to free market economies have stimulated an ever growing interest in FICPI membership in practically all countries of Eastern Europe, including The Russian Federation, and also in certain parts of Asia, including China. Having started from a relatively narrow European basis, FICPI is today represented in 70 countries around the world.
