FICPI's Communications Committee is delighted to announce the August 2024 issue of EXCO News, reporting from the March 2024 ExCo in Goa.This is the second publication of this special newsletter for members since pre-pandemic times, with the first reporting on the London ExCo held in October 2023.
The Executive Committee (ExCo) met in Goa on 15-20 March 2024 and passed several important resolutions on:
- Procedural Rules for Ex-Officio Objections in Contentious Proceedings
- Standard Requirements and Handling of Full-text Patent Applications
- The Registration of the Unitary SPC for Medicinal Products must be under the Control of the UPC
- Third Party Observations on Patent Applications and Patents under Opposition
- Replacement of Single Gender References in IP Laws, Rules and Guidelines
Workshops were held on:
- Fully loaded operating costs
- Best law and practices about provisional patent applications
- Business Intelligence in IP firms: how to take decisions based on data
- Questions on SPLH
- Classification divergence in international TM applications
- AI and patenting pharmaceuticals.
There were no Position Papers adopted by the ExCo in Goa.
