With the theme of "Trade marks empower new development, brands lead dual circulation", this trade mark and brand festival included the 17th China Trademark Annual Conference, 2023 China Brands & Trademarks Expo and a series of themed activities. Attorney Wu Guiming (Gary Wu) of Kangxin Legal participated in the Trademark and Brand Festival on behalf of FICPI.
Protection and creation of trade mark brands
Focusing on the creation, protection, application, management and service of trade mark brands, this year's China Trademark Annual Conference held nearly 30 exchange discussion forums and salons, invited more than 230 Chinese and foreign guests to speak, and attracted nearly 2,000 representatives from home and abroad to attend the meeting.
The 2023 China Brands & Trademarks Expo brought together more than 700 domestic and foreign companies to participate in the exhibition, with an exhibition area of 20,000 square metres. There were three major exhibition areas: commodity brand trade mark exhibition, service brand trade mark exhibition, and geographical indication product exhibition, with more than 550 booths. A total of nearly 50,000 people visited the exhibition.
Trade marks empower new development
In the main forum of the 17th China Trademark Annual Conference and the 8th China Brand Economy Theme Forum held after the opening ceremony of the Trademark Festival, Liu Yuting, President of the China Society for Market Regulation, and Lin Guanghai, President of the Third Civil Tribunal of the Supreme People's Court, Professor Yi Jiming of Peking University Law School and other guests shared their thoughts on the theme of "Trade mark empowers new development, brand leads the double cycle".
The International Trademark Law Dynamics Forum invited the China State Intellectual Property Officials from the Patent and Trademark Office, the British Intellectual Property Office, the French Industrial Property Office, the Japan Patent Office, and the Korean Intellectual Property Office, who respectively introduced the latest developments in trade mark laws and practices in their countries (organisations), implemented trade mark brand strategies for enterprises, and participated in international competition and cooperation to provide the latest and most authoritative legal trends and information.
During the conference, Gary Wu visited the booths of intellectual property agencies from China, the United States, Europe, South Korea, India, Singapore, etc., and communicated with representatives of intellectual property agencies from different countries.
Gary Wu met and communicated with the president Ma Fu of the China Trademark Association during this Festival. President Ma Fu asked Gary Wu to convey his thanks to FICPI for attending this Festival, he said that he will go to Geneva, Switzerland for a meeting on July 6 2023, and the China Trademark Association also hopes to strengthen its partnership with FICPI.

The next China International Trademark and Brand Festival will be held in Xi'an, China in September 2024.
