From June 12 to June 16 2023, the second segment of the International Patent Drafting Training Programme, developed in cooperation between WIPO and FICPI, was held in the WIPO premises in Geneva, led by Eric Le Forestier, President of the FICPI Academy.

30 students from two dozen countries worldwide were led by four instructors, all from FICPI member firms, to develop patent drafting skills at the service of innovators in geographical areas where private practice in patent matters needs to develop.

FICPI is proud to have such an opportunity to contribute to the worldwide development of the profession with the great support of WIPO.

FICPI-appointed instructors were Anupam Trivedi of K&S Partners (India) and Eric Le Forestier of Le Forestier Conseil (France), with WIPO-appointed instructors Anna Tomlinson of Von Seidels (South Africa) and James Snaith of Kilburn & Strode (UK).

In addition to this FICPI/WIPO cooperation, the drafting courses created by FICPI more than 25 years ago are in relaunch phase and are expected to meet the demand of many trainees who, after the pandemic, wish to get back to in-person workshop-based programmes which are key to improving their fundamental patent practitioner skills.
