Antonio Pizzoli specialises in obtaining and defending mechanical and electronic patents, in particular in the automotive, electrotechnical, packaging, software and medical sectors. Antonio has also longstanding experience in the field of designs, especially fashion and consumer products. Since 2003 he has been working as court expert providing opinions on validity and infringement of patents or designs in civil or criminal cases. He also assisted clients in IP litigation before Italian and foreign courts, as well as the European Patent Office, in opposition and appeal proceedings.
Antonio graduated in 1993 in Electronic Engineering (specialization in software) at the Politecnico di Milano. In 1998 he obtained qualifications as Italian Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, becoming a member of the Association of Italian consultants in Industrial Property (patent section) and European Patent Institute (EPI). 1999 saw Antonio qualifying as an Italian Trademark Attorney and he went to obtain qualifications at the European Union Intellectual Property Office in the field of EU trademarks and designs. Since 2003 Antonio has been registered on the Milan IP Court Register of Court Experts (patents and designs). He received his European Patent Litigator diploma from the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI) in 2007.

He is member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Collegio dei Consulenti in Proprietà Industriale (FICPI Italy), Fédération Internationale des Conseil en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI), European Patent Litigators Association (EPLIT) and Standing Advisory Committee before the EPO (SACEPO).
Antonio is a sought-after lecturer for courses on IP, also at universities, and he is invited as an expert to international conferences, assemblies and congresses, covering software patent protection and issues relating to European patents, as well as the forthcoming Unified Patent Court (UPC). In 2013 he obtained the Patent Star and IAM PAtent 1000: The World's Leading Patent Professionals awards.

CET 4 European Patents
CET Group 4 studies the issues of the European Patent and the preparatory works of the Unified Patent and the Unified Patent Court. We are also following other regional patents (Eurasian Patent, ARIPO, OAPI, etc.). Our group members regularly meet officers of the European Commission and the European Patent Office.
