How can innovation and IP standards be an opportunity for both our clients and our practice? Challenges and future of the ISO 56000 standard.

This webinar presents a deep dive into the specific standards applicable to IP, especially ISO 56005

ISO 56006 aims to address issues concerning IP management at strategic and operational levels:

  • Creating an IP strategy to support innovation in an organisation;
  • Establishing systematic IP management within the innovation processes;
  • Applying consistent IP tools and methods in support of efficient IP management.

The first webinar about ISO 56005 took place on 17 September and gave a general overview of the applicable standards in innovation to better understand their challenges and their benefits for both our client and our practice and featured speaker Johan CLAIRE, CEO and Founder, Innovation Way. Marc Levieils

Marc Levieils is Managing Partner, REGIMBEAU (France)

Marc Levieils started his Intellectual Property career in 1991.
After 5 years’ experience in an IT company dedicated to Intellectual Property, Marc joined Regimbeau in 1996 and became partner in 2005.

An Intellectual Property Lawyer specialising in computer law and telecommunications, Marc is now head of the Contracts and IP Valuation Department, which he created at Regimbeau in order to assemble and develop the expertise of our teams in the exploitation and utilisation of IP rights.

Marc utilised his expertise in order to participate in the development of the International ISO 10668 standard for Monetary Brand Evaluation. He was also convenor of the working group of the NF 50-276 standard for automated data exchange of intellectual property under the auspices of AFNOR.

Louis-Pierre Gravelle is Partner at Dipchand LLP in Canada and Vice President of FICPI's Practice Management Committee.

He specialises in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and providing patentability, validity, infringement and right to manufacture opinions in the fields of electricity, telecommunications, mechanical and information technology. He is a registered patent agent in Canada and in the United States (1998).

Louis-Pierre is involved in due diligence matters and managing patent portfolios. He is also involved in strategic counselling for start-ups, small, medium and large-sized businesses.

A member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) and the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), Louis-Pierre was called to the Québec Bar in 1995. He is also a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Louis-Pierre Gravelle is past-chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and past co-president of the Joint Liaison Committee – Patents between the Patent office and IPIC. He is a Councillor for FICPI Canada.

He is listed in the IAM Patents 1000, and has been since 2012. Louis-Pierre is often called upon to speak on a variety of IP-related topics, at local and international conferences and events.
