The European Commission is currently exploring the possibility of extending GI protection to non-agricultural products at EU-level to harmonise the fragmented system of laws that exist at national level. This could affect traditional non-agricultural products, for example “Dalahästar”, “Kolmårdsmarmor” and “Ölandssten” but there is disagreement about the necessity and usefulness of such system.
Join us to hear about the Champagne experience with the existing GI protection, and the current position of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) on the EC initiative.
