The Real Casino de Madrid will be the exclusive setting for the final night of the FICPI Open Forum!
In 1836, a group of young romantics and progressive liberals decided to look for a quiet place to meet up in peace and harmony, away from the frenetic world of politics.
This was the first step towards what would become, in time, the Real Casino de Madrid.
Located right in the heart of Madrid, next to Puerta del Sol, the building is a magnificent example of Madrid’s eclecticism at the beginning of the 20th century, combining French and Baroque tendencies.
Leading artists and artisans were involved in the interior decoration, in which the large ballroom, the Mauméjean with its neo-baroque and modernist stained glass, and the main staircase in a unique modernist style, one of the best in Madrid, all stand out.
Paintings, sculptures, and numerous details make the Real Casino de Madrid a luxury setting for precious works of art. It was the importance of this artistic collection that led the Real Casino de Madrid to be officially declared a listed building of National Cultural Interest.
