The European Inventor Award 2021 ceremony this year is taking place on 17 June 2021, and for the first time, the ceremony will be entirely digital. This marks a significant milestone in the 15-year history of the event.
Since its inception, the Award has promoted understanding of intellectual property rights and shown how they can drive innovation, contribute to society, and foster economic prosperity. The all-digital format will enable us to reach more viewers and encourage even greater interest in intellectual property.

FICPI members are invited to attend by the EPO President, António Campinos.

Date and time: Thursday, 17 June 2021 at 19.00 hrs (CEST)
Online streaming platform: inventoraward.org
Registration: The event is open to all and no registration is required.

The Award was established in 2006 and each year since has put inventors and their inventions in the spotlight. It has become one of Europe’s foremost innovation prizes and a celebration of the people who are making our world safer, smarter and more sustainable.

The European Inventor Award will recognise the achievements of fifteen finalists in five categories (Industry, Research, Non-EPO countries, SMEs, and Lifetime achievement) and the Popular Prize, as chosen by the public. The finalists were revealed earlier in May and Popular Prize voting has commenced - visit the website to cast your vote for your favourite inventor.

The awards aim to inspire innovators and raise awareness of intellectual property rights among the wider public.
