Mr. Andrew Caska

I'm a Patent Attorney and IP Strategist who works with technology companies to determine both short and long term IP strategy, and then assists to execute the strategy to document IP, navigate IP and secure IP in Australia and internationally. 

In 2012, I founded "Caska IP" which is now an Incorporated Trans-Tasman IP Attorney firm. In addition to overarching IP strategy services - we provide patent and trademark attorney services in the Australian and New Zealand market place to secure IP rights, with a focus on patents, in Australia, New Zealand and all major overseas jurisdictions including the USA, China and Europe. 

I believe we prepare better patents by taking more time to explore the invention, performing prior art searches prior to filing and applying focused intellect of dedicated senior patent attorneys to the matter from start to finish. 

We are more cost effective due to our low overhead business model having cloud based systems, file automation to minimise use of support staff, and the use of sensible modern working environments. 

Personally, I have extensive experience in the preparation and filing of patent applications in Australia and overseas. I have advised on complex patent and trade mark infringement matters, prepared patent opposition cases and prosecuted numerous applications before various patent offices including the Australian Patent Office, the US Patent Office, the European Patent Office and the Chinese Patent Office.

Previous to founding Caska IP, I was employed at one of Australia’s largest intellectual property law firms. I have also worked as a consulting engineer, as a management consultant and at the University of Sydney assisting with engineering and design education. I have engineering and research qualifications and have been involved in research programs in some of the worlds most prestigious (and innovative) universities including Stanford University, California, USA.
 
I have a particular interest in Australian inventors and innovative small to medium business. Technically, I am interested in all types of technology, but have specialised skills in mechanical engineering, process and chemical engineering, software systems, radar and control systems, ocean, tidal and wave energy and mining related inventions.
