Climate
Naples is one of the sunniest cities in Italy! Thanks to its proximity to the sea, it has a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers but still refreshed by the breeze that rarely fails on its gulf.
Spring and early autumn are the best times to visit Naples, as in these seasons temperatures are milder and allow to avoid the discomfort of extremes. The average temperature in October is around 18°C/65°F with lows of 14°C/57°F and highs of 23°C/73°F.
On average, there are 6 days of rainfall during the month of October.

Getting to Naples
BY PLANE
Napoli Capodichino International Airport is the main airport in Southern Italy and the fourth nationwide in terms of passenger traffic. Major airlines offer direct flights to Naples from many European cities and there are many connecting flights from major international airports to Naples through European hubs such as Rome, Milan, Munich and Paris.
Napoli Airport is located northeast of the city centre and is 9 km far from the Royal Continental Hotel. To reach the hotel from Capodichino airport, take the Alibus busline and get off at Piazza Municipio. Continue on foot to via Acton and take bus 154; get off at the stop for Saint Lucia, and the hotel is just a few steps away.
BY TRAIN / METRO
Naples main railway station, Napoli Centrale, is located in the centre of the city.
To reach the hotel from Napoli Centrale station, take Metro Line 1 (Garibaldi, just outside the station), going towards Dante, and get off at Toledo. From there, you can take a taxi or enjoy a pleasant walk along Via Toledo and through Piazza del Plebiscito.
BY CAR
To reach the hotel from the motorway, drive towards Piazza Municipio/Porto, continue on Via Acton, cross the Tunnel della Vittoria and follow Via Morelli. After 100m turn left into Piazza Vittoria. Turn left to stay in the square and then turn left into via Arcoleo. Just before the entrance to the Tunnel della Vittoria, turn right into via Chiatamone. At number 54, turn right into via Dumas and at the end of the road turn left into the garage of the hotel.
TAXIS
Taxis are widely available at Napoli Capodichino Airport and the ride rate is fixed, so check current taxi rates before you hop into a taxi. Expect to pay around € 30.
Uber and other rideshare services are not widely available in Naples, but you can easily catch a taxi from set stops on the street — look for the TAXI placards; official taxis are white.
Taxis are metered, but there can be several surcharges, so check and negotiate a rate. You should expect price increases on Sundays, public holidays, and at night.
