James P. Chen, Partner/Patent Agent
Mr. Chen is a Patent Agent with a Master's degree in Engineering from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Beihang University. After graduation, he worked at the National Defense Industry Press and joined Kangxin Partners in 2004, where he has been engaged in drafting and filing new patent applications in the fields of electronics and chemistry. His areas of expertise include semiconductor devices and manufacturing, polymers and composite materials, materials processing, electronic components, liquid crystal drive circuits, electronic equipment, and image processing.
Luna Zhang, Senior Counsel
Ms. Zhang holds an MBA degree from ESSEC Business School and an LLM degree from EDHEC Business School in France. She started her IP practice in 2006 and has assisted IP owners from all over the world in devising and implementing tailored strategies for IP protection in China, with regard to both prosecution and enforcement. She is also very experienced in providing consultation and guidance to Fortune 500 companies, law firms and related institutions in the analysis and use of global IP data including trade mark data, patent data, domain name data and online brand protection data. Based on her deep knowledge and extensive experience of IP practice, she provides proactive, insightful advice to clients and helps them to resolve their problems successfully and efficiently.
Freder Shen, Patent Agent
Mr. Shen is a patent agent at Kangxin Partners. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a Master’s degree in Functional Materials Engineering from Beihang University. After graduation, he joined Kangxin, where he primarily handles patent applications in the fields of chemistry and electronics. Mr. Shen specialises in translating and drafting patent application documents, responding to office actions, and handling patent reexamination, invalidation, and administrative litigation. He has served several large domestic and international enterprises, accumulating extensive experience. His meticulous approach and professionalism have earned him recognition from clients.
