“We’re proud to be supporting the FICPI World Congress and to be more actively involved in the FICPI community. As a firm, we believe in contributing to the advancement of the profession, and we see this sponsorship as an opportunity to do just that, whilst learning, growing, and connecting along the way,” explains Ahmad.
Firstly, our thanks for choosing to sponsor FICPI. Could you tell us what prompted your decision?
At Al Tamimi, our team has long valued the role that FICPI plays in the global IP community. With several of our lawyers having participated in past FICPI events and initiatives, this sponsorship felt like a natural step forward.
We saw it as an opportunity not just to support the profession, but to build relationships with like-minded practitioners around the world, exchange ideas, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on practical, client-focused IP solutions. We’re pleased to be part of a network that shares our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
FICPI’s unique focus on independent IP attorneys in private practice sets it apart. The organisation brings together a global group of professionals, and the sense of community it promotes through knowledge sharing, best practice discussions, and collaborative learning is something we genuinely value.
Sponsoring FICPI is a way for us to give back to a community that has long supported the growth of the IP profession. It also aligns with our firm’s focus on staying engaged with international networks and supporting the development of strong cross-border partnerships.

Tell us who we’ll meet from Al Tamimi at the 2025 FICPI World Congress and the benefits they have found from being a member
I’m the Partner, Head of Innovation, Patents & Industrial Property (3IP), at Al Tamimi and I look forward to representing the firm once again at FICPI’s headline annual event.
I’ve been part of FICPI for several years, and what stands out to me is how open and engaged the community is. There’s a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone is there to learn, exchange ideas, and support each other in navigating the challenges of IP practice.
Being a member has given me the chance to connect with professionals from all over the world, gain new perspectives, and stay closely aligned with developments in international IP law. It’s been a valuable space for collaboration and continuous learning, and I’ve found the conversations to be both practical and forward-thinking.
I’m also a member of FICPI’s Practice Management Committee which offers a stimulating focus on professional standards, best practices, continuing professional development, and the IP profession as a business. I enjoy contributing to discussions and bringing insights from our experiences and established best practices.
What benefits have you found from attending previous FICPI Open Forum, Congresses, webinars and networking opportunities?
FICPI events have always stood out for their balance of substance and connection. The sessions are thoughtfully curated, with a real emphasis on practical takeaways, and the size and format of the events make it easy to build meaningful relationships.
We’ve found the networking to be particularly valuable, not just in terms of meeting new contacts, but in forming lasting partnerships.
Thank you Ahmad, we look forward to seeing you and your colleagues at the World Congress in October 2025!
