FICPI Australia is normally your only avenue to becoming a member of FICPI, which is an international federation of IP attorneys that can expand your practice both professionally and internationally. FICPI Australia is different to IPTA since FICPI Australia provides both a local and international perspective on the IP arena. Being part of the ‘FICPI Family’ provides you with access to fellow FICPI members in other countries to assist you and your practice and also to formulate an international perspective on IP Practice and the law for presentation to IP Australia and Government here in Australia as well as overseas.

The brochure "The Facts about the FICPI Global Community of Independent IP Attorneys" helps explain what FICPI can do for you and your practice. It aims to assist you in identifying the many of benefits associated with being a member of FICPI. This brochure gives you 10 strong reasons to Join FICPI.

FICPI Australia now offers two tiers of membership, full membership has full voting rights and associate membership where the member cannot vote but enjoys all the benefits of FICPI membership.

Members of either tier are admitted by the Council of FICPI Australia following an application made by the candidate to the Secretary of FICPI Australia. The application must be proposed and seconded by two existing members of FICPI from different firms, one of which can be your own.
