2021 // GRUR // Annual Meeting

The GRUR Annual Meeting has always been an opportunity for a professional exchange of views and personal encounters. In speeches, podium debates and symposiums, experts address current issues in the specialist areas represented by GRUR. After the unfortunate cancellation of the GRUR Annual Meeting last year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the year 2021 also poses particular challenges.

It is still unclear whether the vaccination efforts at a national and regional level will have progressed to such an extent in early autumn that we will be able to hold a professional conference like the GRUR Annual Meeting as usual as an in-person event.

Even if the vaccination situation is favourable, it is not certain whether all interested participants will be able or willing to travel to Bonn in order to meet their colleagues. On the other hand, it is quite possible that many of you will want to travel to Bonn as soon as it is feasible because you wish to enjoy the particular personal atmosphere and the personal exchange of views at the GRUR Annual Meeting, and finally wish to see your colleagues again.

We therefore drew up a special concept for 2021 in order to hold the GRUR Annual Meeting.

Which will take place in a “HYBRID format”. This means: “One registration – two formats”.

What we offer: 

• We have planed the Annual Meeting as usual, but keep a parallel online format for the main programme, the welcome evening and a very selected part of the social programme.
• You register for the Annual Meeting.
• When registering, you can choose whether you wish to attend in person in Bonn or exclusively online.
• If you decide to attend in Bonn, you will be allocated a place if there is sufficient capacity on site due to the pandemic situation and you have registered early. This is decided according to the order of registration - early registration is worthwhile in any case. If you have registered too late, if the pandemic situation otherwise precludes your personal participation on site or if you are prevented from attending in Bonn for other reasons, you will automatically participate online.
• We will inform you about your attendance place according to the official situation assessment as soon as this is bindingly announced for our event period and you will let us know within three days whether you would like to come to Bonn or whether you would prefer to participate exclusively online. If you do not wish to come to Bonn, we will allocate your free place to subsequent participants.
• If you decide to participate exclusively online, it is very easy for you: you are assured of your place from the start and do not have to worry about anything.
• We will indicate separately in the programme booklet for all items on the annual meeting programme whether the respective event will be held exclusively in attendance and/or online format.
