복 / 福 FICPI extends its warmest congratulations to Doohee LEE and to Ho-Hyun Nahm who have been presented with Distinguished Commendations from the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property (IP Korea) .
Doo-Hee Lee is President of Secretariat FICPI-Korea and Ho-Hyun Nahm served as President (2021-2024).
Presented in June 2026 during the 80th-anniversary celebration of the Korea Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA), the awards represent the outstanding contributions made by Doohee and Ho-Hyun to the development of IP law, practice, and international cooperation.
The Presidential Council serves as the supreme authority and directs South Korea's national intellectual property policy, co-chaired by the incumbent Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea and a civilian chairperson of ministerial rank.
Doo-Hee Lee said,
"We are deeply honoured to receive these commendations in recognition of our respective contributions to improving IP laws and practices and strengthening IP international cooperation. As a patent attorney carrying on a three-generation family legacy in this field, this recognition is a meaningful milestone that reaffirms my commitment to the development of our IP ecosystem. In my professional capacity, drawing upon my experience as a former patent examiner at KIPO and my recent service as the President of FICPI-Korea and a Committee member of the Patent Examination Quality Advisory Committee of KIPO, I have spearheaded initiatives to improve domestic and international IP laws and systems, enhance examination and trial practices and standards, and strengthen international cooperation and external partnerships in the IP field. I am deeply honoured to receive this commendation, which serves as a formal recognition of these contributions to strengthening our national IP competitiveness."
Ho-Hyun Nahm commented,
"I was deeply humbled to receive the esteemed Chairman's Award from the Presidential National Intellectual Property Council—a prestigious honour presented jointly by the Prime Minister of South Korea and the Civilian Co-Chair. More than anything, this award serves as a powerful validation of my lifelong dedication to the IP field. It recognises my ongoing efforts to champion the value of intellectual property—through authoring 8 books, delivering over 100 lectures worldwide, and rendering more than 1,700 domain name dispute decisions as a panelist for global institutions including WIPO, NAF, ADNDRC, and CAC. I am filled with immense pride and a deep sense of reward."
