FICPI is again celebrating and recognising the contributions of younger members to our global community and the wider IP profession.

The young member who wins this year’s ‘FICPI IP attorney under 40 competition’ will be invited to address attendees at this year’s 2023 FICPI Open Forum and will receive a significant prize of Euro 1,000 which will be rebated against their registration fee. The FICPI Open Forum is being held in London, October 4th- 7th (details here).

In particular, we are looking for members who are making a significant contribution to the IP profession.

We would like to hear from you if you are a FICPI member, attending the FICPI Open Forum 2023, and aged under 40 on 1st  January of this year - or if you have a colleague in FICPI aged under 40 who meets the criteria and that you feel deserves recognition for their professional achievements.

Special consideration will be given to great work and career progression at the firms at which our younger members are employed, but we will also look at other factors such as:

  • Contributions to FICPI committees, working groups and events
  • Mentoring or coaching younger, inexperienced entrants to the IP profession

We invite nominations via short videos, recorded on your smartphone, of no more than 2 minutes – recorded by yourself or, if you are nominating a colleague, about the person you are recommending.

Do not forget to your include name, firm and contact details.

And please be as specific as possible about your career to date, plus those contributions to FICPI and the profession.

All the video nominations will be carefully reviewed.

The winner of the FICPI IP attorney under 40 will be chosen by our president, Roberto Pistolesi, senior members of FICPI, plus Laura Mannering, who you may recall was the winner of the Under 40 prize for FICPI members in 2022.

Please send your videos to [email protected] by FRIDAY JUNE 30TH 2023.

The prize awarded will be a rebate of Euro 1000 against the FICPI 2023 Open Forum registration fee.
