Pierre KIHN after having spent one year in Kansas City (MO) USA as foreign exchange student, graduated as a chemical engineer from the University of Louvain, Belgium.
He joined the firm in 1992. He passed the European Qualifying Examination and is admitted to practice before the European Patent Office (EPO), the Luxembourg Patent Office (LPO), the European Union
Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante (ES) and the Benelux Trademark and Design Office (BOIP) and the WIPO. Pierre further represents clients before the Austrian, German, Belgium, French, UK and
Irish Patent and Trademark Offices.
Since February 2009, he is the CEO of Office Freylinger.
Pierre handles the firm's patent work related in particular to the chemical, environmental, steelmaking, satellite communication, process engineering and mechanical field. He is further involved in a number of
opposition proceedings and pleaded cases before Opposition Divisions and Board of Appeals of the European Patent Office. Pierre also coordinates infringement cases in the United States of America, in Canada, in the United Kingdom, in Germany and in Italy.
He is versed in preparing legal agreements in the IP-field, more specifically, secrecy agreements, cooperation and license agreements He is also in charge of the Firm’s SPC cases, one of which was pleaded before the European Court of Justice.
