How many children have to die from counterfeit goods, or how many accidents will befall people because a counterfeit product fails?

Counterfeiting is not only detrimental because it violates the legitimate interests of owners of Intellectual Property rights, but also because counterfeiting puts at risk aspects of society such as health and safety, and counterfeiters often violate government regulations designed to ensure the quality and the safety of certain products.

Session moderator, Luis-Alfonso Durán, FICPI Executive Committee Alternate Delegate for Spain and Managing Partner at Durán-Corretjer, gives a taste of how this panel session will highlight recent developments in the battle against these products.

You can hear the session "The unglamorous side of counterfeit goods" at the 2023 FICPI Open Forum in London from 4-7 October.
